Out of a sinful and secular world, the Lord called Abraham to live a life of faith. This entailed Abraham to leave everything he knew and travel to a land he had never seen. Abraham boldly began his life of faith, yet he still had moments of hesitation and delay throughout his life. It wasn't until Abraham yielded himself fully to the will of God in his life of faith that he received the son of prophecy, Isaac, and safely brought him through the long journey to the Promise Land. Although Abraham is considered the hero of faith, he is in no way without his flaws. In fact, we can learn as much from his flaws as from his virtues. In studying Abraham's life, we'll notice his struggle to trust God, especially when times get tough. Every true believer faces conflicts and trials that test our ability to trust God; therefore, Abraham's life gives us much to glean from concerning the Christian pilgrimage.

My mistakes and heartaches recorded here are to remind the reader that we all have a story to tell. Lessons in Faith from the Life of Daniel
Author: Gerard Kelly
Publisher: Spring Harvest Publishing
• What is faith in a post-modern world? • In a post 9/11, post Tsunami world? • In a post-Christian world? • Surrounded by hostility to the idea of truth, can we keep our faith intact and still have a voice? The answer is yes! Just as Daniel resisted assimilation into the ways of Babylon, Gerard Kelly shows how we can survive and even prosper in an alien culture. He looks at the kind of faith we need to make a difference, not dependent on surroundings, but on a strong, vibrant relationship with God, that survives and thrives against opposition and persecution.
Lessons from the Life of an Activist Preacher
Author: Jim Wallis
Publisher: Random House
Today more than ever, many people are hungry for spirituality and community. But the most powerful and meaningful spirituality shows itself through action. Jim Wallis is the charismatic preacher, activist, and leader of Call to Renewal, a dynamic new movement that is uniting politics and spirituality to ignite social change and overcome poverty. In his timely, exciting new book, he shows us how we can enrich our own lives by serving our communities. Wallis believes that the making of the modern Christian, Muslim, or Jew is through action. A preacher who spends his time working for justice rather than just speaking from a pulpit, Wallis compellingly demonstrates how going out and putting your belief to work is what really counts. Faith shows itself in works—faith works. Named by Time magazine as one of the "50 Faces for America's Future," a regular contributor to NPR, MSNBC, and major newspapers, and editor in chief of Sojourners magazine, Jim Wallis is a well-known media figure. His advice is increasingly sought by leading politicians who want to tap into the growing power of faith-based organizations and the Call to Renewal movement. A lifelong activist, he has been putting his faith to work for more than three decades. Lessons from Ladies of Faith is a book that demonstrates that the ladies we read about in the Scripture were real women, living actual lives. God gave us a record of their challenges, struggles, and victories as lessons that we can apply to our lives today. From the ladies chronicled in this guide, we can learn lessons about courage, commitment, submission to God, dedication to new challenges, and so much more. As we study Eve, Sarah, Mary, Dorcas, and the other women, we will learn that the paths they walked are not so different from the ones we tread today. Through their stories, we can gain insight into the victories of faith that God desires for the modern day Christian woman. Some lessons teach us of His majesty, others of His grace, while others encourage us to explore new levels of spiritual adventure. Whether you are an earnest Christian believer or someone who is curious about the Christian life, there is much to learn about the journey of faith on this path of exploration. Lessons from Ladies of Faith chronicles thirteen different areas of a life of faith illustrated by the lives of different women in the Bible. By application to our present day lives, hopefully, we will come to understand our own life journey through those of these women.
Faith Lessons from the Life of Don McClanen
Author: Joe Murchison
"Don McClanen threw caution to the wind to live a bold life for Jesus. He founded five major ministries that influenced millions of people, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes -- the largest sports ministry in the world -- and Ministry of Money, a shaper of contemporary thought on the relationship of money and faith. Don worked with sports stars, the wealthy, the famous and the poor, and he traveled into battle zones and the world's worst slums. This book paints an unvarnished picture of a man who achieved great things but also endured suffering and depression as costs of discipleship. Don's life offers key lessons about Christian boldness, authenticity, calling, spiritual growth, giving and friendship." -- From publisher's description.

Lessons from the Life of Moses
Author: Erwin W. Lutzer
No person on earth has ever enjoyed the intimacy Moses had with God. No one spent more time with God; no one understood Him better. Moses lived during one of the darkest times of Hebrew history and yet his life is a remarkable example of intimacy with the Almighty. How did Moses grow closer to God even in such dark times? What can Christians learn from Moses about growing closer to God today? Through the life of Moses, arguably one of the greatest leaders in history, popular pastor and best-selling author Erwin W. Lutzer leads readers on a journey to becoming better acquainted with the Lord. After suggested Bible readings at the beginning of each chapter, Lutzer expounds on the biblical text to demonstrate key lessons in pursuing intimacy with God. Lutzer shows how Moses learned to overcome doubt after hearing God's call, how Moses learned to obey God at the burning bush, how Moses came to trust God while wandering in the wilderness, and how Moses obeyed God in leading the nation of Israel. Through these lessons, Lutzer helps believers expose the excuses and idols that come between them and God so that they may be motivated to pursue Him and to "draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith" (Hebrews 10:22 NIV).

There is a distinct difference between how one whose core faith is that Muhammad(Peace be upon him) was the Messenger of Allah and how someone who does not hold this belief, writes about him. This book, however, is not simply an analysis of history. It is a labor of love and reverence while being analytical and objective. It is an attempt by one who not only believes that Muhammad(Peace be upon him) was the best leader that ever existed but who believes in him and his message and wants to share it. The life of Muhammad(Peace be upon him) the Messenger of Allah is rich and full of lessons. It has been so well documented and so much has been written about his life over the centuries that another attempt is almost unnecessary. However, I decided to write this for two reasons: to make the lessons from the life of Rasoolullah(Peace be upon him) relating specifically to leadership easily accessible to the seeker, whether Muslim or not; and to make an attempt to see how these lessons are applicable today in a world that is in principle, very similar to the world he lived in. My premise is this: Since he was able to change his world and take his people from being the most insignificant, oppressed and weakest to becoming the predominant, admired and strongest in just one generation; if we learn how he was able to do it, we will be able to learn how to succeed in our world today.
