A Handbook for New Christian Believers

Every group is a medley of unique individuals that share a common interest. As the group forms, meets, practices, and develops their identity and skills, certain words (like nicknames) are made up, that allow for the common identification of certain things that are important to the group. As a result, a group-specific jargon is developed.

In, for example, a surfing group, learning “Surferese” becomes part of the initiation process. Mastering the group-specific jargon provides the newer member a feeling of accomplishment and pride. When outsiders overhear you, they may now be able to identify you as “one of those Surfers.” Being identified provides you with confirmation that your efforts have not been in vain.

But Christianity is not a hobby or a club. Your eternal destiny is changed for the better by joining and continuing. For this reason, at this critical juncture, no new believer in Christ should be driven away or alienated by some human-made jargon. So, in A Handbook for New Christian Believers: Including the Glossary of Christianese,, the new believer is supplied with a listing of most of the jargon words and their detailed definitions.

This may be the first time such a listing with definitions has been provided, so please take advantage and familiarize yourself with this handbook and the glossary. You will acquire the knowledge you need to quickly enable and ease the process of (1) getting to know your God and Savior, Jesus Christ, and (2) fitting in with the members of your church.

People say, “Come to Jesus, and everything will be all right.” Although this is true, there is a wide gap between conversion and everything being “all right.” As a new Christian, your old friends may think you’ve changed too much, while your new church friends may think you haven’t changed enough. You’re supposed to handle things in view of Christ, but how do many of His teachings translate to modern life? And then there are the difficulties involved in finding a church. CHURCHIN’ AIN’T EASY is a guidebook for the new Christian, written by Jennifer Gilbert, an experienced preacher, teacher, and prophet who’s not afraid to tell it like it is. Gilbert includes her own personal struggles to encourage you and make her lessons applicable to your daily life as you walk the Christian path. She helps you navigate between your life’s destruction and your life’s destiny by answering questions like, “What am I supposed to do now?,” “Why so many churches?,” and more. The most important foundational truth Gilbert wishes to share with the new believer is the need to have a relationship with Christ instead of a relationship with religion. A new believer needs to have a supportive church that feels like home—especially as you struggle to survive the transition in your lifestyle. Develop your walk with Christ in order to become a successful and balanced Christian, filled with the Lord’s peace, love, and understanding.

It looks at why our American culture has moved from a God-fearing nation to a secular one. It also discusses relevant topics and issues in the church, in our culture, and in individual lives. The primary focus is helping Christians to see things from Gods perspective, to walk closer to the Lord, and to have an active faith. It will also help readers understand that God has a relationship with nations as well as individuals. We must pray, read, and meditate on Gods ways in the Holy Bible to develop a more personal and intimate relationship with the Lord.

A good spiritual foundation is absolutely essential in this day and age, when the Christian thinking and beliefs are all over the park. Now the fundamentals of Christianity are laid out in an easy to follow collection of study sessions in Jane Harber's Walking Toward the Light. Using Biblical references, Jane answers many questions in clear and simple language that will appeal to new and old Christians alike. You will learn the basics of faith, such as: • Who Jesus Is • God's Love for You! • God's Power ... Grace Through Faith • Making It Real These crucial studies prove to be stimulating and revitalizing, and their life-changing principles will help stabilize Christian foundational beliefs. Begin your journey through the most profound experience of life, and start Walking Toward the Light. 'You have done some great work here. As an evangelist, I am always looking for good material to put into the hands of those who make a decision to follow Jesus. Some of the things we see are either too complicated or too biased. Some are great for young people but too juvenile for adults. Yours, however, is just like Baby Bear's portage., 'just right.' I'm sure this will be a very useable tool for people who want to help others move onward with the Lord. Thank you for this wonderful resource. Mike Warnke, Evangelist & Christian Comedian 'This work should not be confused with a denominational handbook. Jane has done a good job of keeping free from sectarian or theological bias. The book is Scripture study from start to finish. I am convinced that Walking Toward the Light will become a standard textbook for many churches to use in newcomers class, Sunday school, discipleship programs, or regular Bible study groups.' Wie man beten soll

für Meister Peter den Barbier

Author: Martin Luther

English summary: Martin Luther's intention when writing this essay was to offer assistance in praying to a barber. In this volume Luther's text is edited and commented on by Ulrich Kopf and Peter Zimmerlink. It provides an insight into the reformer's spirituality and enables the reader to see Martin Luther and his theology.
