Certain works of fantasy are immediately recognizable as monuments, towering above the rest of the category. Authors of those works, such as Stephen R. Donaldson, Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind, come immediately to mind. Add to that list David Farland, whose epic fantasy series continues now. The story picks up eight years after the events of Lair of Bones and begins a new chapter in the Runelords saga focusing on Gaborn's son, Fallion. Gaborn, the Earth King, has been traveling far from his home, to strange and unknown places. While beyond the edge of the earth, he finally succumbs to the accelerated aging that comes from all of the endowments he has taken. His death is the signal for a revolution, an attack from the supernatural realms by immensely powerful immortal beings. These forces have discovered that Gaborn's son is the resurrection of an immortal, one whose potential power is so great that he might be able to reorder the entire universe. Fallion's enemies have decided that they must control him, and failing that, destroy him. He is only a child, but he is the heir to Gaborn's kingdom, and so must flee to the ends of the earth to avoid the destruction of all that Gaborn accomplished. One of the mightiest of contemporary fantasy epics continues. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

Know Thy Law Book 1: The Amendments is the first of a three series volume of books, focused on history and the law. In this installment, each one of the amendments in the constitution are analyzed from the point of view of two spirits; who are trying to teach a young man the law. The amendments are analyzed through stories, scenarios, historic guest appearances and much more. Know Thy Law was an absolute surprise. Reading and understanding the US Constitution is usually reserved for those seeking a career in law and can be downright intimidating to the average reader, however, George Trim is such a skillful storyteller that he makes you forget that youre actually learning invaluable information most people go through life unaware of, but something that can make such a profound difference in a myriad of circumstances. This book has the very real potential to benefit every single person that resides in this country, whose rights and/or responsibilities may come into question at some point in their lives. It is my hope that everyone makes it a priority to secure his or her very own copy of this book. Karen Bailey, Paraprofessional In this classic Know Thy Law, the author George Trim is not afraid to go to certain levels to capture and explain each amendment in the U.S. constitution. It is true genius the way Mr. Trim channels the spirit of righteousness of Malcolm X and Medgar Evers to reach and turn the unconscious to the conscious. It is very enlightening the way Mr. Trim gives lessons on history, metaphysics and Kemetic science while at the same time giving the reader an overstanding of all amendments. With a touch of sarcasm that Mr. Trim uses, he gives Know Thy Law a feel of entertainment while being very informative to the reader at the same time, showing that learning can be fun. Without a doubt, this classic should be in every school, library and home. Know Thy Law is a must have and gem to the conscious community because knowledge of the law and how it is used is an essential tool for liberation of the people. HOTEP!!!!! Ian Kane, Metaphysician

Is the spirit world a myth? How do we know for certain whether there is a spirit world? What proof is there? Who has the answers to this illusive mysterious concept that evades the best minds there is? To begin with, no one as come back physically to give us proof that there is this world beyond the material world. The only person documented was Jesus Christ, over two thousand years ago, as the story goes, and nobody since—as has been quoted to be authentic—we are made to believe. So why is this we talk about life after death in reality? It is not possible for the physical body to survive and return as it was previously. Once the material body disintegrates, there is no way it can return. So where does that leaves us? Precisely in a dilemma, wondering. To begin with, people get mixed up with the body and the spirit. That is the real item that continues after death and nothing else. This spirit has many names to describe this essence, which, in reality, is the thought world, and this is how we can contact. This thought by a medium who acts as a mediator between the person sending the information via the medium to those waiting for the proof so that they can be identified. This information was passed on to me by my spiritual guide.

The long-awaited sequel to The Phoenix Guards and Five Hundred Years After Two hundred years after Adron's Disaster, in which Dragaera City was accidentally reduced to an ocean of chaos by an experiment in wizardry gone wrong, the Empire isn't what it used to be. Deprived at a single blow of their Emperor, of the Orb that is the focus of the Empire's power, of their capital city with its Impe-rial bureaucracy, and of a great many of their late fellow citizens, the surviving Dragaerans have been limping through a long Interregnum, bereft even of the simple magic and sorcery they were accustomed to use in everyday life. Now the descendants and successors of the great ad-venturers Khaavren, Pel, Aerich, and Tazendra are growing up in this seemingly diminished world, con-vinced, like their elders, that the age of adventures is over and nothing interesting will ever happen to them. They are, of course, wrong . . . . For even deprived of magic, Dragaerans fight, plot, and conspire as they breathe, and so do their still-powerful gods. The enemies of the Empire prowl at its edges, in-scrutable doings are up at Dzur Mountain...and, unex-pectedly, a surviving Phoenix Heir, young Zerika, is discovered—setting off a chain of swashbuckling events that will remake the world yet again. Available for the first time in paperback, Eva Salber's The Mind Is Not the Heart (originally published in 1989), is the personal and political story of a white, Jewish, South African woman who practiced medicine for over fifty years among the impoverished—both rural and urban, black and white, in South Africa and later in the United States. Her lifelong dedication to providing health care to poor people was informed by a passionate vision of the link between social problems and medicine, accompanied by an embracing involvement with the communities in which she served. In this warm clear-eyed account, Dr. Salber presents not only her own personal journey, that of a professional woman, teacher, wife, and mother, but also the story of the people on the margins of society among whom she worked.

Tales of the Congaree

This volume brings back into print a remarkable record of black life in the 1920s, chronicled by Edward C.L. Adams, a white physician from the area around the Congaree River in central South Carolina. It reproduces Adams's major works, Congaree Sketches (1927) and Nigger to Nigger (1928), two collections of tales, poems, and dialogues from blacks who worked his land, presented in the black vernacular language. They are supplemented here by a play, Potee's Gal, and some brief sketches of poor whites. What sets Adams's tales apart from other such collections is the willingness of his black informants to share with him not only their stories of rabbits and "hants" but also their feelings on such taboo subjects as lynchings, Jim Crow courts, and chain gangs. Adams retells these tales as if the blacks in them were talking only among themselves. Whites do not appear in these works, except as rare background figures and topics of conversation by Tad, Scip, and other black storytellers. As Tad says, "We talkin' to we." That Adams was permitted to hear such tales at all is part of the mystery that Robert O'Meally explains in his introduction. The key to the mystery is Adams's ability -- in his life, as in his works -- to wear both black and white masks. He remained a well-placed member of white society at the same time that he was something of a maverick within it. His black informants therefore saw him not only as someone more likeable and trustworthy than most whites but also as someone who was in a position to help them in some way if he understood more about their lives. As a writer, O'Meally suggests, Adams was not simply an objective recorder of folklore. By donning a black mask, Adams was able to project attitudes and values that most whites of his place and time would have disavowed. As a result, his tales have a complexity and richness that make them an authentic witness to the black experience as well as a lasting contribution to American letters.

She knew that her name was hardly something that would attract anyone and she dropped the name FLUCK for obvious reasons when she became a school teacher and was in charge of an army of five to six year old boys… and adopted the name PEGGOTY instead of Margaret because to her that sounded much more feminine, although her greatest interest outside of her teaching was motor mechanics and she proved she could master that task as well as any man. Peggoty loved all the children she taught, but there was one little boy who attracted her more than the others named BENJAMIN SCHOFIELD… Ben as she called him and when Ben’s parents were killed in a road accident and Ben had to go into an orphanage, Peggoty took him on holidays and visits to her cottage by the sea. She never scolded her pupils harshly, but would pat them on the bum and tell them to “run away laughing” That always did the trick.
