The Rider-Waite tarot deck was originally published in 1910. It is the most popular tarot deck in the United States. When people are introduced to a tarot reading class, this is normally the deck that the teacher refers to, due to its clear symbolism and use of colors. The cards were illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, with the design originally developed by mystic, A. E. Waite. While the original deck is now in the public domain and free to copy, this revised format is copyrighted. I've developed this coloring book with the adult in mind. It is printed on high quality paper, in a 6x9 format so that you can easily tuck it into your purse or satchel and pull it out while commuting on bus or train. This is less obtrusive than children's full-sized coloring books. It is printed on one side only, so that if you use magic markers, you are far less likely to have the colors deface your other pages. I've omitted page numbers so that your finished art is suitable for framing or use in your crafts. I still recommend that you place a piece of paper underneath your drawing so that it can absorb any excess ink. You are free to copy the pages for personal use, but if you are interested in using these images for teaching a class, please contact me for additional licensing. I am happy to consider private-labeling and printing these books for you.

The earliest known decks of tarot cards created in Italy in the late 15th century were used as a game. The tarotÕs association with fortune telling and gypsies did not come about until the late 1700s. The first decks were hand painted for wealthy families who had the money to commission the decks as well as the time to play with them. After the advent of lithography, the easy replication through printing made tarot decks much more accessible to the everyday man and woman. In todayÕs world, the tarot has numerous uses, most of which have the purpose of encouraging self-knowledge and reflection. The beauty and lyricism of hundreds, and even thousands, of tarot decks illustrated throughout the last 600 years, as well as those currently in circulation and those yet to be designed and published, make them a unique art form. This book celebrates that art form.

The oral tradition of the ancient masters has been passed down from Master to Apprentice for millennia, and until now has been the domain of an unseen world. With the popularity of so many different methods for reading Tarot, and the introduction of hundreds of different Tarot decks, both old and new, this book goes back to the origins of Tarot in Europe and gives a complete orientation to the cards, their images and how to read them. This is one of the deepest looks into the ancient art of divination readings. Until now only Ankahr Muse apprentices were privy to this information. But now it is available to those who wish to read Tarot with the depth and accuracy of ancient masters.

Discover the history of the tarot, the secret traditions that inform it, and most vitally detailed explanations of each of the cards in the tarot deck and what they signify, including: the High Priestess (and what the scroll in her hand represents) the Lovers (and what mythological couple they evoke) the Wheel of Fortune (and what dangers it implies) the Hanged Man (and the significance of the tree of sacrifice) and all the rest of the cards. Complete with all the illustrations from the original 1911 edition, this information and entertaining work will delight anyone interested in the tarot, in mythological symbology, and everything arcane."
